In a country as wealthy as Australia, no-one should be without a home.
So, put on your walking shoes and join the Eastern Homelessness Network (EHN) at Ringwood Lake on August 5th, for an interactive walk to help raise awareness of homelessness in our community and the need for more social housing. Everyone is welcome.
We’ll also be supporting the Houses at Parliament Campaign so bring along a folded origami house (or two!) to add to our display.

Houses at Parliament Homelessness Week Event in Bendigo

On the lawn between the town hall and the library, Hargreave4s Street Bendigo
Come along at 11am to the library lawns on Tuesday 5th August for Homelessness Week 2025.
There will be a Welcome to Country by Jason Kerr and didg playing. We’ll have The Orange Sky, a sausage sizzle and plenty of give aways.​​​​​​​​​​

Join us to create a carpet of origami houses under the trees on Ballarat's iconic Sturt St.
6000 houses will sway in the breeze while the children's choir from Mt Clear College create a beautiful soundscape.
Share your message of support and hope and fold a house or two and add to our display.
There's over 5000 people living with housing insecurity or homelessness in the Central Highlands and we plan to do something about that!

Southern Homelessness Services Network (SHSN) Houses at Parliament Exhibition

Join the Southern Homelessness Services Network (SHSN) at the iconic Victorian Pride Centre during Homelessness Week 2025.
SHSN has teamed up with the Victorian Pride Centre for Homelessness Week. The Victorian Pride Centre are kindly hosting a week-long SHSN Houses at Parliament exhibition from 4-8 August, 79-81 Fitzroy Street, St Kilda.
The exhibition will include a display about the Houses at Parliament campaign, an installation of origami houses used in Houses at Parliament and an interactive display where visitors can make an origami house, write a message and add it to the display and the Statewide Tally.
Visitors will have the opportunity to talk to SHSN members about the challenges facing our sector and to talk to our lived experience members about homelessness. This is a great way to educate the general public about homelessness and break down some of the stereotypes and stigma.
The SHSN thanks the Victorian Pride Centre for their wonderful support for the SHSN Houses at Parliament Campaign.

Barwon Homelessness Network
In Geelong Deakin University HOME Team will launch Home Truths: Local Responses to Homelessness research report. The event is taking place in the City Chambers at the Geelong City Council on Tuesday August 5 10-11.30.
The Salvation Army are hosting an event at the Geelong Corp building (239 Malop Street) between 11am and 3pm on Monday 11 August. The event is to provide a “one stop shop” for clients to view different services/programs in the region. There will be a free sausage sizzle on the day. Community members are welcome to attend.
Sacred Heart College Year 8 & 12 students are folding paper houses for the Houses at Parliament campaign. Students are hoping to fold a house for each household on the priority housing broadband waiting list for Geelong - 5,726. Local data will be displayed along with the houses at the school during homelessness week.
Deans Marsh Cottage are holding an event on Wednesday 30 July 12.30-1.30 to support the Houses at Parliament campaign. Community members are invited to fold a house for homelessness to add to the Victorian Homelessness Network tally. There are 60,000 households that urgently need housing now in Victoria! Come along for soup, folding, coffee & tea. You can RSVP here.
The Salvation Army Corp in Colac holds a weekly breakfast at 51-57 Dennis Street between 9-11am on a Wednesday. You are welcome to attend on 6 August to support homelessness week along with local support agencies.
Colac Area Health staff will fold houses and write messages to support Homelessness Australia’s campaign to Homelessness Action Now. The houses will be displayed in the community services reception from 4-10 August.
South West Homelessness Network
The Youth Café at Brophy is holding an event for young people aged 12-25 at 210 Timor Street in Warrnambool free entry 2-5pm on Wednesday August 6. There will be free haircuts, free nail painting, goodie bags, door prizes, free toasties & hot drinks.
Emma House at 131-133 Kepler Street in Warrnambool will display paper houses in support of the Houses at Parliament campaign during National Homelessness 4- 10 August. The houses will be added to the Victorian Homelessness Network tally to raise awareness for the urgent need to for 60,000 homes now for those on the Victorian Housing Register. There will be information and data on display showing the number of homes needed now in each of the Local Government Areas across the South West region. Family and Domestic Violence is the main reason for homelessness.

View our beautiful origami houses freshly fold and transplanted from Parliament House to Gippsland and a video display featuring photos and writing from young people experiencing homelessness.
