Homelessness Week 2023

In Australia there are almost 123,000 people experiencing homelessness on any given night. Homelessness Week aims to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness, the solutions needed to end homelessness and to educate communities on how they can make a difference. During the week homelessness services and community groups educate the community and advocate for change via national and local community events, media and social media activities.

Homelessness Week 2023 will take place from Monday 7 to Sunday August 13

The National Homelessness Week theme for 2023 is ”It’s time to end homelessness”. The theme aims to highlight the ambition needed to develop a national housing and homelessness plan that includes changes that can end homelessness.

You can find out more at the Homelessness Australia website where you can download resources and find out how to get involved.

In Victoria, the Victorian Homelessness Network are running a Houses at Parliament Campaign. We're asking everyone to help us fold 14,600 origami houses (1/10th of the total number of social housing needed in Victoria right now!) to be used as a collective display at Parliament House for Homelessness Week this year.
